Puppies from
Duck Dog Connection are conditioned to retrieve on land and water, as
well as climbing steps and to kennel up on command. In addition, the
puppies are conditioned to loud noises, to further help prevent gun
shyness. All puppies are conditioned from the 3rd week of life to play
with duck and pheasant wings. At the 4th week all puppies are offered
small birds to play with and attempt to fetch, in the 5th week the
puppies are chasing the birds. This type of conditioning is continued
through the time the puppies are ready to go home. At about the 6th week
a duck wing is added to a bumper to achieve the desire to fetch and
retrieve. The bumper is then thrown on land and into the water to get
the puppies acclimated to water and swimming.
Most importantly, all of our puppies
have exposure to children to help ensure they will make wonderful family

Well her we are with a new breeding season upon
us. I would like to let all those of you that have enquired about my
future pups, I have the first female of the spring season coming into
heat at this time and will be breeding her to Ice soon.
Lil'Sonnie Southpaw and Ice have bred in the past to make some wonderful
pups. The pups out of Sonnie and Ice have matured into some great
hunting dogs and family pets. With this being a second breeding I would
have to say that the pups will come out to be light yellow or white. The
pups have grown to be medium to large framed dog with the sweet
temperament of the parents. Sonnie is a wonderful house dog that loves
to retrieve and play with kids. Sonnie weights in around 65 lbs. and is
a nice size lab for a female. Sonnie comes from a long line of duck
hunting dogs out of Louisiana, she does have master hunter in her 3
generation pedigree. Sonnie was born nov.10th 2006. Sonnie will be
bred to Ice who is a wonderful all around great dog. Ice is a master
hunter in the Akc hunt test and a wonderful house dog that loves kids of
all kinds. Ice is also a machine when it comes to duck hunting! Ice has
Qualified for two Akc Master nationals in the past 4 years. Ice has good
hips and is a healthy white lab.
